Creating Spaces to Learn, Live and Grow Together
Word has spread beyond Bhuj that a very different educational space has been created and many enquiries have been received. We are building a hostel where those who yearn for this kind of an educational space can be accommodated. Also we would like to host some of our own students who may not be able to get academic support in their home environment. We also see hostels as spaces for different groups of children to come for short periods while working on specific school related projects and experience the ambience of living in nature.
A Teacher Resource Centre
Sharing our approach to education
We are also getting requests from many schools to train their teachers in this different approach to educating children. We would like to support schools who would like to traverse in this direction. We are creating a teacher resource centre where we can host training workshops for teachers to support them in this new vision of education, which in fact is very close to what the NEP envisages.
Centre for Environmental Excellence
Exploring, Understanding and Protecting Our Local Environment
One more initiative in the pipeline is to move towards creating a centre for ecology and environment. We would like to research more about the local flora and fauna by inviting resident researchers. We would also like to create an immersive experience for children through nature walks, camping in the wild, and expose them to the ancient wisdom of the local pastoralists who live in harmony with nature.
