Kindergarten, 1 and 2
This is a tender stage in a child’s journey — when they step away from their first caregivers and into a new world of gentle structure and joyful learning. It is an age of innocence and trust, when eyes are wide with wonder and hearts open fully to the adults who guide them. At Shishukunj, we create a warm and caring space where each child feels seen, valued, and free to grow at their own pace.
Children at this age learn through movement, touch, and imitation. Their bodies, senses, and hearts work together as they explore the world around them. Singing, dancing, and storytelling fill their days with rhythm and delight, while activities that strengthen fine and gross motor skills help them grow in confidence and grace.
Language blossoms through listening and speaking, leveraged by their strong auditory powers. Numbers and patterns unfold naturally through hands-on materials, while the beauty of nature and the rhythm of seasons and festivals weave gently into their learning.
The Montessori room, with its various learning corners, encourages independent learning, while the practical life corner helps children develop confidence and self-management. In Classes 1 and 2, specially curated materials deepen this journey—Hindi Ki Duniya brings language to life through songs, conversations, and games, while in-house workbooks in Mathematics and Environmental Studies guide their growing curiosity. Reading takes root through a cluster-based phonics system and graded readers, moving them toward a lifelong love of books.
