Healthy Body, Healthy Mind
Wellness that supports learning.
We take the maxim that a healthy body houses a healthy mind as a guiding principle in the development of the children. We strongly feel that nurturing a child’s body (through nutrition, sleep, and exercise) is essential to nurturing their mind (learning, focus, and emotional resilience). The latest research in neuroscience is confirming this traditional wisdom.
Balance and Coordination
In the foundation years the focus is on developing their gross and fine motor skills through play. This is done through activities like obstacle races, where children have to manoeuvre through various objects, balance on a small plank, crawl under a net, hop on one leg, and manipulate hula hoops using their hips.
From Playgrounds to Playing Fields
Growing confidence through sport.
As children’s strength develops, they learn to play games like kho kho, langdi, dodgeball, kabadi and many others. This is the time when the focus is on developing hand eye coordination, and strength in arms and legs. Eventually children are ready to play the more formal games like volleyball, cricket, badminton, basketball and football. We encourage boys and girls to play together wherever possible and develop the right spirit to play.

As they grow older, students progress to structured sports including Volleyball, Cricket, Badminton, Basketball, and Football. Boys and girls are encouraged to play together wherever possible, promoting inclusion, sportsmanship, cooperation, and mutual respect.
Essence
Let every bud bloom
‘Shishukunj’ (a Sanskrit word meaning a garden of children) is primarily an organisation dedicated for the development of children.
Shishukunj’s logo represents the underlying philosophy of the organisation. A child is like the blossoming bud that develops under the nurturing care of the beautiful flower. The pot holds the soil, manure and air that are needed for buds to blossom properly. By being that pot – Shishukunj provides the plethora of nutrients that enable a child’s holistic development.
As each bud becomes a flower they in turn take on the responsibility of nurturing the newer buds and so the circle that surrounds the logo remains intact. These children continue the work of inspiring generations to come.
Adventure Beyond the Classroom
Learning through exploration.
Physical education extends far beyond the playground. Every child is encouraged to embrace new experiences through hiking, cycling, swimming, and outdoor expeditions.
These experiences challenge students to step beyond their comfort zones, adapt to unfamiliar environments, face physical demands, and discover their own strengths. Through adventure, children learn perseverance, courage, self-reliance, and resilience.
In Gujarati, we often describe this spirit as “Chalse, Gamshe, Favshe” — a positive attitude that reflects adaptability, acceptance, and determination. These qualities form the foundation of resilience in modern life.
Himalayan Trek Experience
Student Leadership & Resilience in the Himalayas
Our long-standing partnership with Shishukun School, Bhuj, reflects our shared commitment to holistic education and experiential learning. As part of this vision, 25 students participated in the Deoriatal–Chandrashila Trek through an Outdoor Leadership Programme with Indiahikes. The journey challenged students to navigate unfamiliar terrain, adapt to changing conditions, and overcome physical obstacles, leading to a noticeable growth in confidence, resilience, and self-belief. Throughout the trek, students supported one another, worked as a team, and celebrated achievements together, especially during the summit climb. By stepping beyond their comfort zones, they learned valuable lessons in perseverance, teamwork, and personal growth that will stay with them long after the adventure ended.
